Writing a purchase contract with a seller seems like a simple thing, right? All you need is a property address, a price, a closing date…

UNLESS, of course, you’ve agreed to pay all the closing costs. Or your ability to buy is dependent upon you getting financing. Or you’re making a creative offer like a subject to. Or you’re a real estate agent. Or the property is in probate. Or the seller gets to stay in the property for 30 days after closing. Or needs to move out before you’re willing to close. Or there’s a tenant in the house. Or it’s a short sale. Or…

Since the purchase agreement is the legal form of your agreement with your seller, it needs to be RIGHT, or it can get you into big trouble later.

So tonight, we’ll practice filling out purchase contracts for various scenarios, reviewing them for competition and accuracy, and coming up with the right wording to express your actual agreement. You’ll be provided with a copy so that you can fill it out as we go.
