April 29th:
Join Real Estate Investors from All Over Ohio
For an Impactful “Day at the Capitol”

Your rights as a landlord, renovator, and real estate entrepreneur are under attack, and it’s time to stand up and be heard.

Here in Ohio, the statehouse is considering legislation:

  • To make tax credits for rehabbing properties in challenged areas available only to people who live in those homes, not to landlords, and not to rehabbers who resell the properties
  • To make criminal background checks AND use of credit scores illegal as criteria for approving renters
  • To make it illegal to refuse Section 8 voucher holders statewide, making it mandatory for housing providers to do business with the government under their terms
  • To make lead inspections and remediation mandatory on all rental properties
  • To set the maximum interest rate on land contracts at 4%, AND make it illegal to sell a property on land contract until it passes an inspection from code enforcement

Why? Because the anti-property rights folks have 100% of the attention of our legislators—and it’s our fault.

Our elected officials don’t know us.

They don’t know the value we bring by providing affordable housing, investing huge amounts of money in renovating older properties, employing thousands across the state, and paying a LOT of taxes in the process.

They think of us as evil, greedy, grasping predators instead of the professional business people that we are.

And this is the day when we can turn that tide, by showing up in force and letting them see who we really are, and what we really contribute.

This event is so important that we ALL need to be there, and so important that REIAGC will pay your $39 entrance fee.

You’ll hear from elected officials, OREIA lobbyists, and regulators—and, if you register by April 15th, we’ll even get you an appointment to say hi to YOUR local state rep.

Here’s the agenda (but who cares? Your body in the seat is the most important thing)

Registration 9:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.

  • Program begins at 9:30 a.m.
  • 11:30 - 12:30 Networking Lunch
  • 12:30 - 3:00 Walk to the Statehouse where we’ll sit in on the House and Senate Sessions before taking a guided tour.
  • 2:30 - 5:00 Meetings with your legislators
  • 3:30 - 4:30 New lead paint initiatives in Ohio
  • 5:00pm - 7:00 Reception - All legislators will be invited to attend! Appetizers and cash bar

      In Summary:

  • It’s free—we’ll pay your registration fee
  • It’s important—we’re the largest group in Ohio, so WE need to make the biggest showing to make it clear to lawmakers that we’re numerous, we’re the good guys, and we vote
  • It’s easy—there’s nothing for you to do but come, learn, network with investors from all over Ohio, and say hi to your state rep

Register below and we’ll make your appointment with your state rep—and thank you in advance for taking a stand for your industry!
