In reality, BUYING rentals is a lot easier than owning them. Owning them means management (or hiring a property manager and managing the manager), budgeting correctly so that unexpected repairs or downturns in the rental market don’t undo a decade’s worth of work, deciding whether to ‘leverage up’ to buy more, or to pay them off faster to get to ‘ender’ status sooner, and a whole lot of other up front and ongoing decisions.
