One of the big advantages of note buying is that you can own assets all over the country without needing to be where the collateral is. Notes on assets far away come with a baked-in problem: how do you find out whether the property is occupied? Livable? burdened with back taxes or building orders? In this mini-workshop, we'll discuss the things you need to know about the borrower, collateral, and title before you buy a note--and, more importantly, how to get that information, whether the property is nearby or across the country.
