Hands-On Bartering Training Night!
Call it exchanging, bartering, swapping…whatever you call it, it’s a way to get the things you want (deals, funding, help) by using what you have (skills, time, equity, stuff, anything that’s NOT money!)
In the real estate investing world, knowing how to barter does a lot of things for you:
- It makes you deals without money
- It makes you more creative
- It makes you a better negotiator and problem-solver
- It potentially saves you taxes
- It helps you build your network of financial friends and allies
- It gets you more of what you need—whether that’s help, deals, funding, advice, or labor—without using so much cash
But if you’ve tuned into our Friday morning Propswap meetings (where bartering is just sort of a way of life), you already know that it’s a skill that has to be learned and practiced.
Bartering is SO useful and beneficial to real estate investors at all levels of knowledge and experience that at this in-person Cincinnati Chapter meeting, we won’t just TALK about it: we’ll PRACTICE it.

Introduction: How to Use What You Have to Get What You Want with Vena Jones-Cox: If you have no idea how to “trade” skills and work and real estate and notes, or you’re afraid of insulting someone by offering them something they don’t think is worth the same as what you’re asking for, or you never speak up because you just don’t think you have anything that someone else would want, or you don’t know what an “overtrade” or “change” is in a bartering deal, come to this early bird meeting and get a lesson that will help you get the most from our main meeting!

Buy-Sell-Trade is back! Bring your deals, your money, your buyer’s list form, those appliances you took out of a rehab but don’t want to throw away (don’t literally bring those, ‘k?), your requests for referrals, whatever! and tell your colleagues about them.

Hands-on Bartering Meeting
This is where you’ll learn the important skills that you’ll use over and over to “use what you have to get what you want”—and you DON’T need to have properties, notes, or money to participate and observe!
Here’s how you’ll do it:
- You’ll bring something from home that you don’t want any more: it could be an old course, a business book, a tool, a household item, and old piece of jewelry, an old coin, a gift card, a certificate to use some service or labor that you can provide—whatever.
- We’ll have a moderated exchange meeting, where you’ll learn to use what you have to get what you want—including those complicated 2- and 3-way trades you’ve seen others doing—so that you can see how to do the same thing with real estate deals
Our Friday morning meetings have already proven that you can trade work for equity, properties you don’t like for properties you do like, knowledge for pieces of deals, skills for mentoring…and now we’ll all learn HOW to make those offers and use what we have to get what we want.
