- The “Anti-Land Contract Bill” that, if passed, will make it impossible to sell houses to people with iffy credit using this time-tested strategy
- The “Section 8 as a protected class” bill that’s floating around, that will FORCE you to do business under the government’s terms, whether you want to or not.
- The “Lead-free housing bill” that the governor talked about at his state of the State address, that would require inspection and abatement of every (rental property) in Ohio

OREIA is holding a “Day at the Capitol” in Columbus on Wednesday, May 29th from 9-3:30.
The purpose is to let us, along with association members from all over the state, meet with key legislators and let them know that we should be treated as a resource for providing housing and information related to housing legislation, NOT as the enemy.
You’ll hear from the OREIA leadership and lobbyist, get training in “grass roots” lobbying, and meet with actual legislators—
And most importantly, we’ll get the chance to unite for a day, and let the folks who hold our businesses in the palm of their hands know that we’re here, we care, we vote, and that there are a lot of us.
